David Forbess
CPA, Partner
David Forbess is a Partner and financial planner. He is an alumnus of Texas Tech University, with a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science in Accounting. David is a Certified Public Accountant and an Investment Advisor Representative, and is a member of the Texas Society of CPAs.
After beginning his career at Ernst and Young as a senior tax accountant, David joined CWA in 2009 as a tax preparer before transitioning into financial planning. In 2023, he was appointed partner.

David serves on CWA’s Accounting Steering Committee and helped launch the first annual Pediatric Comparison Report, for which he continues to play a leading role in publishing each year. David cohosts CWA’s internal firm-wide podcast, serves as a mentor within the firm, and regularly guest stars on the Accumulating Wealth podcast and 7 Pillars’ Advisor’s Table podcast. Since joining CWA, David has helped others become more financially literate through his work with the 3to1 Foundation.
David is a board member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and volunteers with the Boy Scouts. He also enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and three boys and cheering on the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
